Creating Dataset for Narrative Structure Recognition by Crowdsourcing
Ignác, Igor ; Dočekal, Martin (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
Goal of this work is creation of extensive dataset for recognition of narrative structure by crowdsourcing method. For this purpose, it was necessary to create a web interface which offers dataset of films for user annotation. The annotation of data gained from IMDb database is established on three different types of annotation. Users validate similarity of movies based on computation done by Sentence-BERT, extraction of keywords from movie plots done by RAKE and precomputed similarity between movies based on their keywords. User's gamification is based on points assignment, which are related with badges, achievements accomplishment and leader board of most successful users.
Tool for Professional Profiling and Excellence of Students
Paulus, Tomáš ; Szőke, Igor (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This theses focuses on development of web application, which aims to provide intrinsic motivation to students to work on their professional profile. The thesis explores the concept of gamification, analyzes the aspects of motivation and describes the fundamentals of web application development. The practical part focuses on describing the students'; problem with motivation, presenting the application as the solution and dividing it into key parts. Furthermore, the thesis describes the actual implementation based on the Laravel framework and the results of user testing along with suggestions for future expansion of the application.
Web Tool for Design and Management of Project Activities and Goals
Branderský, Gabriel ; Szőke, Igor (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with planning of project activities and goals which leads to effective and successful outcomes. The result is the web tool which embeds good principles of project management and gamification which is targeted especially to college students. They are dealing with many projects during their studies. The most important of these projects are bachelor and diploma thesis and that is a reason why extra attention is devoted to these projects and their specific needs.
Using Word-Association Games for Language Teaching
Babača, Martin ; Otrusina, Lubomír (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis explores the use of the word associative game Codenames in language learning, especially learning English as the second language. In order to achieve the goal, it addresses the problem of explaining semantic relations among words. The explanations take advantage of word sketches, provided by the Sketch Engine tool, and of word descriptions available in specialized English dictionaries. The implemented extension of the previously created engine for playing Codenames enables explaining the automatically suggested relations among the hint words and intended words in each game, motivating users for further exploration of the studied language.
I Offer/Seek Local Help. How to Connect These People Effectively and Safely?
Kohútová, Alena ; Veľas, Martin (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design a system that will connect people seeking help with those who need it, focusing on the effectiveness of use and motivation of users using gamification techniques. The system allows you to add contribution, start user collaboration, add ratings to other users and more. The resulting web system is implemented using modern web design techniques. The output of the work is an implemented prototype, which is evaluated by user testing.
The use of electromyography and gamification in medical rehabilitation
Hatala, Branislav ; Lázna, Tomáš (referee) ; Chromý, Adam (advisor)
The possibility of using EMG signal measurement and gamification for the purpose of rehabilitation is a field that is being researched for several years, yet there are some questions that were not answered satisfyingly. This work is focused on creating a low-cost system, that can be used for research in this field, also this device uses VCOM interface to send raw data so it can be plotted in real-time and recorded. The device is made of FRDM-KL27Z development board and olimex-EMG-shield, the pivotal part of this work is the software of the device and overview of signal processing used in EMG. Creation of games purposed for use with this device for rehabilitation is also part of this work. The system developed in this work was then tested on volunteers that suffers from sarcopenia, and effects of device usage were evaluated.
